Just had to spread
the news.
We have had some
terrible luck in the last week, losing 4 sheep to coyotes. Three young rams
and one pregnant ewe. We have hunted the coyotes and filled in where they were
getting under the fence. We have donkeys, but this was a large pack that we
think overwhelmed the donkeys.
Well, after a sad
week, we have gone four nights, coyote free. Yesterday, one of our ewes
(Ethel) gave birth to a very healthy lamb. She was injured in one of the
attacks and had trouble walking for a few days but is now back to strength. We
have three other pregnant ewes ready to drop any day now. Hopefully,
they'll do as well as Ethel.
Just wanted to spread
the good news during the holidays. Hey Sharon, the ewes I bought off of you
are fine. The rams we lost were from Carr
DuPuy. They were
great animals and it is a real lose.
