Vit B Complex at 2cc/150lbs once a
day. This increases the appetite.
Use Safeguard wormer. Sometimes I combine Safeguard
with Ivomec. These won't hurt her pregnancy. Do not use Valbazen as will
cause abortion. Wait a few days then give her Probiotics (paste) or lactose
bacillus acidolphylus (sp?) (liquid) to restore natural flora in her
system.
Check with your ag extension office and/or vet to
learn whether your area is deficient in Selenium. They may give other
suggestions.

Update on sick pregnant
ewe. This afternoon I sat out in the field and watcher her for about an
hour. She is obviously slowed down from the rest; when the other three
run, she barley tries to walk fast. I went ahead and grabbed her in the
shed to check her out. Her gums are not pink, but somewhat pasty -too
late to worm her with Ivermec? Last wormed about 6 months ago with
Valbazen for sheep. Also lifted her tail, her "rear" appears normal at
this point, not swollen. I felt her bag, it is growing and round, but no
milk in it yet. Still not heavy breathing problems, no runny nose.
Appears that loose bowels stopped, though I never did see her poop (no
more piles, no wet behind). I went and got them some pure whole corn and
alfalfa hay to try to get her appetite up. All of the other sheep went
right for it, but she nibbled for a minute and stood there and stared.
&nb! sp;I guess I've misjudged the immediacy of her deliver; now I've got
to figure a way to keep her alive till then. Should I worm? Should
I give Vit-B? Should I give selenium? Should I give antibiotic?
