Mike, >From what you have explained, you now have a very sexually mature ram. I have one that exhibits very similar behavior. Except to my husband who has whopped him a few time with a pipe and never turns his back on him. Ghost will challenge my kids and myself. He is in an enclosure with his ewe's. It is pipe rails welded every 6 inches (totalling 5 rails plus top rail) apart. Then stock panels around. On top of that, Ghost is on a 6 foot tow chain, just in case he rams through the fence. He has gotten loose on a couple of occasions. He does ram the ewe's during feeding, but not to hurt. Just to show his authority. He is truely the king of his domain. If you reach through the fence to feed him, he will gently eat grain from your hand. Never any aggression when hand feeding.
I have found he has never hurt the lambs. In fact, I have two pygmy goat kids. I have pictures of them standing on his back while Ghost was napping. This is typically a very aggressive breed of sheep. My suggestion, good solid fencing. Pipe or HEAVY wood. I have watched Ghost snap a 4X4 post in half with one solid ram! Give him something to butt against. We use an old semi truck tire and the pen rails. KEEP out of the pen unless it is necessary to handle him. If you need to handle him, have someone with you.
