Hello Mary,

I use spray paint and spray my initials on my sheep and goats before I send
them to the market. It works well for me but I do not know how long the
paint last on the animals since I spray them the day or day before they go
to the market.

Subject: [blackbelly] Other alternatives for marking sheep

Has anyone tried paint branding lambs until they get old enough to
tag? Someone gave me a set of used paint brands, and told me you can paint
brand your lambs with about any kind of paint (or you can buy marking paint
from Premier), and it's a nice alternative to putting lamb tags on them. I
haven't tried it yet.
