Seasons Greetings Sandy,

Sandy, I did not think you were but I wanted to make sure and in case other
people on the list had the same problem to make sure they understood.

Sandy, Blackbelly sheep have a natural resistance to worms and also a
natural resilience to a low worm load as Carol stated. Most of the goats I
know do not. Therefore my goats need worming more. If I worm a sheep it is
very rare and only twice have I wormed them all at one time only because I
run my goats with my sheep and my goats were having BIG problems. I am very
low maintenance and only worm when I have too except for those two times. I
do not do any normal preventive worming. I hope this makes sense, it is
late for me and my mind has gone but my fingers are still typing.

Good luck and have a wonderful holiday season! Keep me and the list
informed on what you have decided and the outcome.

Subject: [blackbelly] Worming

Ho Ho Howdy James;
Didn't mean for you to think I was taking your suggestions, experiences
as facts to do. Sorry I should write better, I am new at this so I guess
I just haven't figured out the lingo yet. I usually look at the label and
make a choice but for some reason I was questioning my own judgement this
time.
I found it very interesting that you didn't need to worm your sheep as
often as your goats. Why is that????
You mentioning about the powder wormer, that was what I was thinking
about before a block. Since I feed them grain I thought that would be an
easy way to worm them. I haven't found the powder wormer here that says
its for sheep, it says for other livestock. Is a sheep system that much
different than other livestock? Maybe that's what's been hanging me up.
We haven't set up a chute and pen area yet, that will come this next
summer. Once this is set up I'll be able to get my hands on the sheep to
do what ever is necessary.
I had never heard about the eye lid check, sounds quick and easy if you
set up to do this.
You have helped me out a lot thanks for your time.
Best of wishes,
Sandy
