Vesrah, you do not want a ram with tightly curling horns. Look at the horns 
of wild American sheep or look at the horns of the mouflon breed from which 
Barbado originated. The bigger the horns the better, and the farther they 
are curled from the head the better.  It would be very rare, but none the 
less possible, for horns to curl right into the head so that you or a vet 
would need to trim them off.  Just CULL any ram with horns curling closely.  
Most people are not doing this and I've seen very ugly looking Barbado rams 
with tightly curling horns. We'd like to get rid of that characteristic, 
aiming for good looking horns only.

James, I aim for the standardization of the Barbado breed (and for any breed 
for that matter). Since you are a director of the BBSAI, you are one person 
who can have a little more influence than I can.  Look at OK sites again; 
they say that there are BB sheep on the island of Barbados that "DO HAVE 
horns or scurs." The BB breed has been developing for over 350 years and 
many other breeds of sheep have been brought to Barbados during those years. 
Some of them have purposely or inadvertently been bred with the BB. 
Therefore, not every BB sheep on Barbados is PURE.  Our aim should be to 
PURIFY the breed and not accept for registry any BB sheep with horns or 
scurs.  Too many breed associations accept widely ranging variations just to 
inflate their numbers. I hope BBSAI is not one of them.
