Greetings Earthlings Just a couple of thoughts on leg traps. These are one of the singular most cruel devices that you can use to attempt controlling predators.
Problem number one is that you don't just control the predator, you capture anything that might happen by, like yours and your neighbors own pets and children. Problem number two is that any animal, two or four legged, that is caught in these are usually consigned to a long and painful death. While this is, unfortunately, a similar fate that the predator had in mind for your sheep, pets, children, or whatever, this doesn't justify committing them to the same fate. Problem number three is that an animal caught in a trap will spend most of the remainder of it's life crying or squealing in pain, possibly for days. This constitutes one of the best predator calls that you could imagine. So now you have trapped your predator and it lays there calling every other predator within the sound of it's voice to "Come On Down, Lunch Is Served". If your not capable or willing to make a well placed shot from an appropriate weapon, contact your local extension service or game department and have them put you in contact with someone who is a practicing professional in such matters. Your conscious will be much clearer and your more likely to solve the real problem without creating a whole host of others.
