Please never accept the notion that the Barbados
cannot be held to the same standard as every other
sheep breed. Correct structure isn't like white hairs
or a little wool. It's the foundation of every
breeding program, be it for cattle, hogs, goats, or
even sheep. To request the Barbado have a relaxed
standard promotes the idea that the Barbado is an
inferior sheep.

I admit the majority of the Barbados I've seen have
been poorly put together, but not for a minute do I
believe that they can not be improved. The little
Mexican man who raises Barbados down the road from me
cuts any lamb, ram or ewe, that doesn't live up to his
standards, and he just raises them for pocket change
and Sunday dinner. The result is a group of wide
backed, square hipped, correct legged, roman nosed
Barbados living in a scrap yard. I have faith that
folks who care enough to register their Barbados can
work towards breeding in sound conformation and breed
character with a minimum of effort.

I'll climb off my high horse before I get yanked off.
*grin*
