Hi! I found quite a lot of dog trainers willing to sell their sheep in my area (Florida) by searching the web for dog trainers rather than sheep ranchers. Even if the ones I contacted didn't have any sheep to sell, they usually knew someone who did. You may also try dog training associations or directories online.
I bought a whole (small) herd from a dog trainer - the sheep were in excellent health and had been well taken care of. He said they had to be so he could use them to train the dogs and he was reasonable because his real income was the dog training, not the sheep. Good Luck!!
