Hey Carr:

Good to hear from you. I try not to do any inbreeding at all. It makes hard, but I think in the long run it is better that way. I did, for the first time in 4 years, have daddy get to you of his ewe daughters. Her lamb was very healthy and good, but I wouldn't want to try it again.

Steve

Steve,

I was thinking about you this weekend when I was in Clifton looking at my sheep.  I am getting to the point where the possibility on this next round of breeding, it is possible that my rams will be breeding their daughters.  How long do you let "inbreeding go?"  I have pretty well separated young rams from their mothers.  I too have some rams that I will need to move on,  and need to buy an "outside" ram to thin out the gene pool.   It is getting more and more complicated.

Thanks,  Carr

Subject: [blackbelly] available lambs

Dear Friends:

I have several ram and ewe lambs for sale (approx. 17). They were all born between Dec. and Feb of this past season. They are all wonderful, healthy, and well fed animals. They would make great sires, replacement stock, or meat for some. If you are interested, please contact me off of list serve at phone or email listed in my signature box. I am located in central Texas, 30 minutes south of Waco, just south of Temple.

Thanks,
Steve
