Ken, I could be wrong here, but I think that Texas now requires the same USDA/APHIS scrapie tags that the other U.S. States do. Check out these two links:

http://www.tahc.state.tx.us/news/brochures/scrapie_tag_req.pdf (Texas Animal Health Commission)
http://www.animalagriculture.org/scrapie/Scrapie.htm The government's Web site with links to the regulations and how to comply with them.

Call 1-866-USDA-TAG with questions.

Hello all,
A couple of years ago, the State of Texas began requiring all sheep owners
to ear tag all sheep before selling. This tag is unique to each owner and
identifies what farm the sheep originated at, to help control scrapies.

I've just returned home from a 13 month mobilization to Iraq, and now can't
locate any of my records on where to re-order my tags. Any help?
