Corn is basically almost all carbs, that is why it is fed in feed lots to
cattle to fatten them up. I have always fed my sheep a combo of whole corn and
sheep/goat pellets (2 parts corn to 1 part pellets) and have never had any
trouble with scours from it - they love it!!
Scours can occur from changing feed, even changing brands of pellets or if
the pellets contain different ingredients even if they are the same brand.
Also, if they suddenly have access to more or greener grass or different
vegetation. Stress can also cause scours. If it lasts more than a couple of days, I
would worry and start looking for a cause (coccidious,e-coli, shipping fever,
lantana poisioning, even worms can cause scours) and treatment. If it is
accompanied by any other problems - like not eating, stumbling - lack of
coordination, avoiding bright light . . .then you need to take action immediately to
find
the cause.

Rick-
My boyfriend Chad and I, we feed blackbelly sheeps and rams with crushed corn
with grains mixed, and they love it. We never got any cases of diraherra
expects scours from the food. So basically I dont think corn could cause
diraherra.
I read in one of magazine that they said that corn have high carbs. I dont
know if it really caused the diraherra? Who knows
