Unfortunately, the listserv cannot handle attachments, including photos. Hopefully, you have a Web site you can put them on. I know that people will want to see them.
Good luck with your camera. Once you get comfortable with it, you will discover the joy of not having to worry about "bad shots" costing money to develop. You will have the freedom to take a zillion photos and keep the ones that turn out well.
