Sue, we have two 5'x 5'and one 4'x12' pens set up in our barn. We have the
heat lamps over each one. We only use them if it is an absolute necessity,
such as rain, snow, sleet, or the mother won't take them. When they have
them out in the pasture and the weather is extremely bad, we pick up the
little ones about knee high and lead mom into the stall. Fortunately, it
doesn't happen that often. We lost one lamb ewe a couple of years ago due
to frostbite. The mothers hate it, so we limit their stay and the weather
permits. In the smaller stalls, we can easily fit two ewes with their
little ones.
