hello everyone!
my next coast to coast transport trip is in the serious planning stage now - this will be the first trip for my new state of the art small animal transport trailer - the trailer is being built now - I will pick it up next week from
http://www.southernclassictrailer.com
the trailer is 20 feet long double deck solid aluminum - it uses soft riding torsion suspension rather than stiff spring suspension - the interior has up to 20 compartments where single animals or small groups can be placed at pick up and left there until drop off - this reduces travel stress considerably - it also minimizes contact with other animals - it has 6 dog pens specifically designed for the large LGD breeds - this is a one of a kind state of the art trailer that is being built to my specs - this is just another step toward my goal of having the very best small animal transport service available
the tow vehicle is a stripped out van/RV - there are three stock panel pens and two 500 size carriers in the climate controlled interior where I can carry fragile and young animals - they are under my constant supervision - I never leave the animals unattended for more than a few minutes - I sleep in the van/RV within inches of the animals - I drive 24 hours a day with short stops for naps - I am conditioned to this mode of operation because of ten years of living with a bad back
it is almost definite now that I will make a west coast loop first this time - I will be making pickups in the TX area and then heading west to southern CA then north to WA then east to MI then south to TX - from there I will do an east coast loop and possibly another west coast loop and east coast loop - I don't have enough input yet to see a trend in that area
this means that I most likely will be able to pick up and deliver animals anywhere in the lower 48 states - my goals is to be on the road just before or after Labor Day and to be back home by mid October in time to attend the Onion Creek Ranch GoatCamp(tm) open house - http://www.tennesseemeatgoats.com
to start planning your transport I will need the pick up city/state, the drop off city/state, and a description of the animals - please reply privately to [EMAIL PROTECTED] - I will be out of town for about a week when picking up the new trailer so do not be concerned if I do not reply for a few days
PLEASE NOTE! - I do not transport slaughter bound animals - 'terminal' market animals have VERY relaxed vet inspection requirements - sick and injured animals can legally be transported to the slaughter house where they are separated from the human food chain market and are placed in the animal food chain market (we hope!) - do not take a chance with your breeding animals when you choose a transporter who may have just completed a terminal run or may actually have terminal animals on the same load as your prize breeding stock! -- thanks - please see below for some useful web sites --- IMPORTANT NOTE: if you anticipate using my transport service you need to join the TravelWithRonK group below immediately! by joining Yahoo at
