hello everyone! it is less than a month before I hope to be on the road for the SEP/OCT coast to coast transport trip - I am targeting AUG 31st as a start date - there will be a couple days of picking up animals within TX before I head out to other states
between now and then I am going to have to spend about a week on the road going to IA to pick up the new trailer and to OH for a magazine article interview and photo session - the latest word is that I need to be in Iowa next Wednesday to be present to help resolve last minute construction questions - the route for that trip will be TX IA OH TX - I have the ability to haul animals around this loop if you have a need that fits - contact me privately at [EMAIL PROTECTED] OK - here is what is shaping up for the coast to coast trip First west coast loop - a clockwise loop TX CA WA MI TX - starting about first of SEP lasting about 2 weeks followed immediately by First east coast loop - a counterclockwise loop TX SC VA OK TX - lasting about 2 weeks followed immediately by Second west coast loop - a counterclockwise loop TX WY WA CA TX - lasting about 2 weeks that will get me back to TX in time for the Onion Creek Ranch GoatCamp(tm) Open House in mid OCT please get your maps out (see below), and connect these states with lines so you can see my general route - there is still LOTS of room to expand on these loops so if you have anything in the general direction of these loops let me know ASAP even if it is tentative I just found a very useful web site - if you want to print out a map to follow my trip go to http://www.yourchildlearns.com/megamaps.htm - download the map software and start printing maps! - for the home school families this program will print out WALL SIZE maps that you can use for a geography learning experience! - I have also downloaded a USA map to the Travel group 'files' section that you can print out to get started with - it has the two letter state codes so you can find the states when I name them off with two letters like I said I will be on the road for about a week so do not panic if I do not respond to your email immediately this will be the first trip for my new state of the art small animal transport trailer - your animals will be placed in individual compartments inside the trailer and left there for the trip - this will reduce stress for them and will also limit their contact with other animals to nose touching - the suspension on the trailer is soft riding torsion suspension rather than stiff spring suspension - the trailer is highly reflective aluminum with lots of ventilation so it is going to be comfortable even in direct intense sunlight - if I happen to hit an early winter storm it closes up to close to air tight the tow vehicle is a stripped out van/RV - there are three stock panel pens and two 500 size carriers inside the climate controlled interior for the fragile and baby animals - I just had some expensive work done on the generator and now it is purring like a kitten!
