Thanks to all the BBSAI members for making that good change. I myself have no more excuse for not joining BBSAI.
Now, to use the right name for the first time, I'll respond to the donkey vs. dog comments. I have a guard-donkey, and she is wonderful. She is friendly enough to come to me whenever I walk into the pasture and she has never picked up a lamb. Dozens of lambs have been born in my two acre pasture. So, you probably don't have to worry about getting people-attached. And, yes, I have seen her pick up a full grown American Blackbelly ram, despite his huge curling horns, when he tried to push her around! He learned his lesson.

I wanted to let everyone know that members of the Barbados Blackbelly Sheep Association Meeting voted in their Annual Meeting to use the name American Blackbelly when referring to horned bloodlines of Barbado sheep that meet breed standard and are registered with the Association.
I will be redesigning the BBSAI's Web site to reflect this change and
strongly encourage all members of this listserv to practice using the new name....
