Hi All,
I have been working for a couple of years now on a novel about a sheep rancher. Of course, what else would he raise but Blackbellies? I just received word from my agent that Bridge Works Publishing in NY has offered a contract to publish the book. It's titled Blackbelly (assuming they don't change it) and it's due out in late 2005 (about a year from now).
While the story is truly about the struggle to overcome prejudice in a small Idaho town, the sheep are a metaphore for humanity. You'll recognize the joy and frustration we all have felt in raising Blackbelly sheep in the pages. I hope you will watch for it, read it, and enjoy it.
I'll let you know when I have an actual publishing date.
