Premier1 is doing a great job with their newsletters, and Stan Potratz always gives great advice and insight to shepherds. This month's issue of Premier's newsletter is posted at http://view.exacttarget.com/?fec812747364037d-fe111d75706c03757d1078. About a third of the way down the newsletter there is an article entitled "Essentials for saving the most lambs and kids" that I recommend for newbie sheep owners (and veterans, too--we all can learn something new). Stan's list of four items that you should have on hand at lambing time is right on target and I was pleased that my lambing kit includes every item. And I USE every item, too. He is not suggesting a bunch of stuff that only woolie sheep might need. The article also incluqdes a tip on freezing colostrum.
