Seasonal production is always going to be cheaper and easier than non-seasonal production. If you happen to live in an area that has year round pasture, the benefit would would be that you could split up when the lambs are ready for sale/butcher, which would give you a more steady supply of money/meat. If you live in an area that doesn't have year round pasture, it would probably be difficult to recoup your winter feed costs. The Stockman Grass Farmer and Graze! magazines are excellent resources for this kind of information.
