Unfortunately, since my roommate that does most of the day care of the livestock is on the careless side, timid & not very smart to boot, he is constantly putting himself into bad situations with the ram who knows he is scared of him, forgetting he needs to have a second person to guard him. While he luckily escaped with deep bruises, he could have been badly hurt this time. Noble threw him about ten feet, then tried to ram him on the ground several times, and luckily my other roommate heard him yelling & ran to help him.
He's bred all the ewes for this year, so it's time for "ramburger."
I have told the cook among us that members of this list have recommended barbecuing the older animals. She would like to know how to go about doing this--what cuts, how prepped, etc. She also wants to know, if smoking recommended, and any details about this, if so? She does all butchering herself, although she has never done sheep.
My computer crashed a while back & I unfortunately lost the information that was posted from one member within the past 2-3 months(?) who had gotten some very good results in sending away the skin to be prepared--I wonder if that person could either post that briefly again, or else contact me privately with the info on the company?
This may be a stupid question, but can a taxidermist used by hunters do this work?
Thanks much, Valorie Machin Bolivar, MO [EMAIL PROTECTED]
