I know someone who would disagree... I live almost exactly midway between Newport and Spokane, and we have cougar, bear, and coyote here. The breeder I know placed one of her most aggressive llamas with someone that lives within a few miles of me, and it has worked well for him. It comes down to selecting the right individual for a given situation, which unfortunately is *not* what most people do.
