Like many other customers, I found out today (via Slashdot I might add) that my ISP provider (DirecTV) is closing it's doors.
As I am hosting the mailing list and archives off my personal DSL connection, this means that there may be interruption of service. I will be doing everything I can to ensure that this does not happen, but felt it was my duty to inform the list of the situation. I currently have service and the notice from DirecTV indicates that they will continue to provide service for at least the next 30 days. So, I should continue to have service through Jan 13th at least. I will keep the list posted of any major updates/changes in the situation. There is currently no immediate cause for alarm or panic. I just wanted to keep the list members informed. Additionally, updates should be available at the following sites: http://www.directvdsl.com/ http://www.directvdsl.com/faqs.htm -- Jamin W.
