Hi, I’m homing someone can help me with a puzzling problem with installing the .NET
framework on win2kas.

I installed the framework and sp per Microsoft’s directions, seemed simple enough.

When I view the clients .net site with a browser, I get an error that says “Server
Application Unavailable”

Immediately, the NT event log adds 3 entries:
Detection of product '{B43357AA-3A6D-4D94-B56E-43C44D09E548}', feature
'Redist_Package', component '{C702B474-1598-477F-8E6A-87A05B37F0BB}' failed. The
resource 'C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\Microsoft.Vsa.tlb' does not exist.

'Redist_Package' failed during request for component

Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x80070005

Okay, so it says “Microsoft.vsa.tlb does not exist.” So I looked, and sure enough it
does exist in the exact path listed above. Added a path statement just to be sure the
server could see the directory. I see the file associations for .net (aspx, etc) in
IIS.

I also downloaded/installed Microsoft .net web samples and got the same results.

Is there a special way I need to setup/config the client site in IIS? Register
certain files? Any ideas?

Thanks
