The "current selection" proxy object was indeed very useful in
triggers. On Leopard, I had quite a few triggers using this proxy
object. And now that they're broken, I realize how often I used them
in my workflow. For instance I used these triggers on a daily basis
using "command + option + one letter" as keystrokes:
current selection > add tag > ... (the selection being any number of
files)
current selection > remove tag > ... (the selection being any number
of files)
current selection > open with > textmate (the selection being files or
folders)
current selection > make new > sweave project (the current selection
had to be a folder, then trigger used to create all the files
necessary for a new sweave project (an empty template ".snw" file, the
R icon, and a bunch of other files)
current selection > append to > ... (the selection being text in any
app)
current selection > prepend to > ... (the selection being text in any
app)
and so on...

Now that I have to call these manually (at least for the second and
third pane) I realize how much time I lose everyday! Probably not as
much as I spend trying to fix this issue though! ;)

Anyway, thanks for your suggestions!
Ben
