i managed to trace an exchange event via spotlight to the following
folder:

~/Library/Calendars/5D5B11BD-C09D-4BCD-A2D9-AA276CD89CED.exchange/
91117FA3-7076-45D4-8DCB-9A5A8A60BD33.calendar/Events

any thoughts? thanks for your help.
