Yes, but I don't see why it couldn't. ⌘G and ⌘⎋ don't seem to do anything 
currently when a message is selected, so it wouldn't break anything.

I would file a feature request for the main application in that case. It should 
probably work with ⌘G and ⌘⎋ (when QS isn't active).
