Thanks Daniel for your comments. Unfortunately "Play in Party Shuffle" does not work at all in my setup (not even with only one item selected and no "comma trick").
I guess the iTunes plugin would need some changes in order for the comma trick to work (maybe by parsing items one by one and updating iTunes).
