I'd first of all check in ~/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/PlugIns
and see if you have a previous Web Search plugin there. If you do, then try deleting it then re-installing the plugin from http://qsapp.com If that doesn't work, you may have permissions problems on that folder above. Try manually copying the unzipped plugin to that folder.
