You might be having the "'capitalized key to select action' fails in first 
pane in 10.8" problem. If Reminders is slow to launch, leave it running ans 
see if that helps. Follow this video for the setup (the 'R' that Keycastr 
shows bottom-left is ⇧r and the 'N' and 'V' ones at the end are the script 
doing its thing).
