Technical: Requirement: Senior Java Developer – Server Side Development Role: Software Developer ' Server Side Development is responsible for leading complex software design projects and will lead the design, installation and maintenance of complex systems/projects within the Retail Trading and Long Term Investor areas. Responsibilities: • Performs product design tasks of a very high complexity which may require extensive research and analysis and documentation. • Participates in production support and on-call rotations. • Expert knowledge of one or more programming languages including Java, program design and specification development, program logic and flow-charting, testing, debugging, and documentation. • Works independently on complex programming tasks. Provides analysis of problems, recommends, and implements solutions. Prepares program specifications and develops coding logic flowcharts. • Participates in client interactions and business partner discussions, independently, to develop system solutions to business problems. • Works within established procedures to develop, test, implement, and maintain application software. Recommends improvements to established processes, develops implementation plans, and assists in rollout. • Participates in, and initiates improvements to established team processes, design, and coding standards, and influences others to adopt. • Mentors more junior developers. • Serves as technical lead on projects - leading junior and/or contract developers responsible for the quality of the design and code produced by the project team. • Troubleshooting and problem resolution of critical issues that may involve many systems and platforms, within a complex infrastructure. • Could be working on multiple large projects concurrently. Ability to multi-task is critical. Experience & Requirements: • 5+ years of Java experience in web front end and services development with 3+ years working on large complex systems. • Experience with Java 5 or higher. • Experience with Java/JMS based batch processing. • Excellent problem solving and debugging skills. • Experience with common Java application development related technologies - EJB, Servlets, JMS, JDBC, XML, Struts, Web Services and other Java APIs. • Work within JBoss, WebLogic, and WebSphere application server environments. • Experience with JDBC, SQL, JavaScript, and JSP. • Ability to integrate complex systems. • Self starter with the initiative to work with minimal supervision. • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills. • Ability to meet frequent deadlines in a fast moving environment. • Full knowledge of iterative software development lifecycle and best practices. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
