#1850: autofs dependency on SMB/NFS kernel parameters is optional -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- Reporter: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Owner: [email protected] Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: 6.2 Component: BOOK | Version: a-SVN Severity: normal | Keywords: -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- My testing indicates that autofs works without the SMB and NFS filesystems configured into the kernel if you are not using these types of shares. I am happily using it for floppy and cdrom. I have no shares available to connect to.
I do not know if this used to be needed and was changed at some point. I am on kernel 2.6.15.6. Your call if you want to update the book. - Marty Jack -- Ticket URL: <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/ticket/1850> BLFS Trac <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs> Beyond Linux From Scratch -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-book FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
