Wayne,

Why did you remove the chown command? It is still required with the most
recent version of Esound.

Please, test your changes before you just make them. It looks to me that
you must build as the root user and not an unpriv user. If you do, then
please don't just remove commands you feel aren't necessary. In fact,
if you do, you should switch and starting building as an unpriv and
installing as root.
