It is really some kind of nightmare to have all the dependencies worked out. But finally, I got a KDE4 running which now makes me feeling a bit better than ever with KDE4. While there are still problems (I have no chance to get my kontacts stored in a IMAP shown in the kaddressbook while the calendar stored in that IMAP works well, sometimes the desktop icons change their size i do not know why) but all in all it feels better than ever and i had no crash so far. Find attached the packages i installed based on a LFS-6.6. The number after the last column is the version. I needed to reinstall mysql again (because of that it is at the end of the list) because KDE4 likes 5.1.40 best (which means it doesn't work with 5.1.44 ! ) which I found out at runtime. For VirtualBox I used the binary (eeeeeh) - but it works perfect. So, for the book it is really a challage to get KDE4 done because there are some packages of which the recent versions of them cannot be used (mysql, redland). But nevertheless, I'll give it a chance. -- Thomas
