We have investigated the functioning of X when started at runlevel 3 with
''startx'' and ''xinit'', from ''xinit-1.3.4'' and from runlevel 5, with
 ''sddm-0.12.0''.

Results are dependent on the ''vt'' (''tty'') where X will be executed, on
the use of Consolekit2 and session d-bus. results were double checked by
 Bruce and Fernando.

Some tests failed in different forms, depending on the Desktop
Environment. They have been performed with ''LXDE'' and ''LXQt'' by
Fernando. Tests with ''XFce'' have been double checked by Bruce and
 Fernando.

Failing the right combination of commands to start X, several problems
 arises:

 • ''Administrative tasks'' such as mount/umount file systems from file
 managers fail to authenticate.
 • Some session ''exit options'' either disappear, or do not function at
 all or malfunction.
 • X fails to start.

'''Independent''' results similar to ours have been obtained by Ken.

Due to those problems, we need to '''modify several instructions''' from
packages and parts of the referred DE's.

 At the moment, I recall:

 1. xinit-1.3.4
 2. sddm-0.12.0 (including bootscript)
 3. ConsoleKit2-1.0.0
 4. LXDE
 5. LXQt
 6. Xfce

This ticket description may be improved with the collaboration of Ken, who
has been discussing with us most topics here for many weeks in the -dev
list and the collaboration of Bruce, who has been intensively exchanging
 information with me, privately.

Tomorrow, will increase detail, but please, you two can put the hands on
 at any time.
