I'm inclined to think that putting a package-freeze in place now
(in the next day or so), then following with the pre-1 release
for about 10 days of testing, followed with the BLFS-6.1 release.

Then, we can update all those packages (some of which may have
API updates that affect others, especially the multimedia stuff)
and later release BLFS-6.1.1 (a minor version release).

In my opinion, the book is stable now, and could be released as
is (just a couple of package updates first). Adding almost 50
package updates right before a *major* release is just asking
for trouble.
