Why do you require more than just a PID file to have a subdir in
/var/run? The FHS says it is okay.

Why can't we use the maintainer's defaults, if the only thing we
have to do is create a one-line instruction to create an entry
in the createfiles file?

Seems easier than patching a package, if there is no configure
switch to move the PID file.
