OK, so given all these problems with the Sun JDK, has anyone got anywhere with a truly free Java stack? I've read bits and pieces recently regarding things like gcj and GNU classpath. How close does this get to having a usable Java implementation without all this pain? I'm sure it'll all fall over once I need to get JAI on there (for FOP processing), but if Eclipse can run on it (which I think I remember reading a couple of months back) then it can't be too far off...can it?

Matt.
