Hi all, I'm struggling with a sentence. Wondering if it sounds okay to y'all or if someone can provide better wording.
Here is some background. The CUPS test suite is run with "make check". After running that command, you are prompted with a couple of questions after a message is displayed describing the tests. You are prompted for two things: which test to run and if you want to use Valgrind. Here is some text I am going to commit. If it can be better, please don't hesitate to provide better text. "To test the results, issue: make check. Note that the “torture load testing” test uses more resources than is displayed in the message prompting you to choose which test to run." ==================================================================== Just for fun, here is the message displayed (it is kind of funny) Welcome to the CUPS Automated Test Script. Before we begin, it is important that you understand that the larger tests require significant amounts of RAM and disk space. If you attempt to run one of the big tests on a system that lacks sufficient disk and virtual memory, the UNIX kernel might decide to kill one or more system processes that you've grown attached to, like the X server. The question you may want to ask yourself before running a large test is: Do you feel lucky? OK, now that we have the Dirty Harry quote out of the way, please choose the type of test you wish to perform: 1 - Basic conformance test, no load testing (all systems) 2 - Basic conformance test, some load testing (minimum 256MB VM, 50MB disk) 3 - Basic conformance test, extreme load testing (minimum 1GB VM, 500MB disk) 4 - Basic conformance test, torture load testing (minimum 2GB VM, 1GB disk) Please enter the number of the test you wish to perform: -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 13:12:00 up 135 days, 12:45, 3 users, load average: 2.06, 1.98, 1.38 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
