I'm speculating, but it could be that yelp want's to use epiphany (which is a gecko based browser) to open web-based help? That doesn't seem to crazy to me. Epiphany is gnome's official browser, and it needs gecko, yelp want's to use a browser, so... Sorry, I know speculation isn't really what you were lookin for but I couldn't help but say something.
