I've always had good luck with the Samba updates. Seems they've always been straightforward. Except for when the darn thing wouldn't compile because of issues with Heimdal. But, I'm replying more about the libedit issue. CC'ing -dev as well, because I'm wondering if we shouldn't remove the libedit dependencies in the book, or at least put big cautions about using it. No hurries to do anything, just looking for input. The issue, for those that haven't followed Thierry's problem with Samba, is that libedit is listed as a dependency of BC. However, if you don't know better and install libedit, it overwrites some of Readline's files rendering your system unstable (or unstable for a development platform anyway). -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 06:44:01 up 118 days, 16:08, 3 users, load average: 0.00, 0.05, 0.21 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
