Yes, my belief is that it will become the standard for Linux
Zeroconf networking. Hopefully, KDE will abandon the Apple
mDNSResponder for Avahi soon. Currently, the easiest way to
set up Zeroconf Networking in KDE is with mDNSResponder, but
there are some instructions to use Avahi instead.
