Dear List,
in the course of a LOT of BLFS re-building, I have run into
trouble while building
the GConf-1.0.9 documentation (for the first time ever). The file
gconf.types should be present -
I think in <src dir>/doc/gconf/ - but it's not. The ChangeLog records this
file being added in
1999, but that's the only explicit mention I can find. It certainly doesn't
seem to be intended
to be a built object (even if it is, I can't find a rule for it).
Can anyone shed any light? Presumably whoever added the documentation
instructions to the page since my last visit thought it was possible... was
this a packaging
error which was corrected on autopilot and never made it into the build
instructions?
Curiously, it seems not to have been in the released tarballs *at all* (I've
checked most,
but not quite all of them) before 1.1.6, long after the ChangeLog entry.
I've grabbed
the copy from 1.1.6, modified it as necesssary (not that there was much to
it, but it DID
need to be modified), and at least it builds the documentation now.
The proper contents of gconf-client.h seem to be
#include "gconf-client.h"
gconf_client_get_type
and
<gtk/gtksignal.h>
should be added to the headers #included by
wrappers/gtk/gconf-client.h.
Now, I'd love to know that all this is unnecessary...
if not, should I raise a ticket?
Yours wearily,
Bernard Leak
