I've only recently built dbus (1.0.2) for some gnome-2.16 stuff, and
I can see why you don't want to upgrade this close to a release, but
why on earth is 1.0a-1 even a possibility ? Are you following a
fork ? Freedesktop.org doesn't seem to mention a 1.0a-1, but it
does show 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 as bugfixes. I can't see anything between
0.50 and 0.60.

If you are happy with a well-tested old version, use whichever
version fits. But for the future, please stay with mainstream
releases.
