Sorry for the delay in answering, have been super busy at work. If you
guys wish to take over the blfs ftp that is fine, since you can probably
make it much more slick and automated than me. I do not have any
scripts which populate the server, which is why there is some lag
between the book and the ftp repo. With the limited tools on the
osuosl.org server it is kinda of hard to write something too crazy. If
you wish to see my scripts, they are here:

http://cross-lfs.org/~justin/scripts/

blfsdiff - diffs package versions from the wget file from the book, and
the versions symlinked in the repo. Does a short diff-like output.
blfsget - copy/paste in the URL, it downloads the file, puts it in the
right conglomeration directory and makes the symlink. md5sums are
checked manually.
blfspackage - generates the .md5sum files, and the master MD5SUM and
SHA1SUM files.
blfsperlpackage - copies the perl packages into a tarball,
perl-modules.tar.bz2.

The blfsdiff has a bunch of hacks in it, since some files are renamed
from the filenames in the book to better relate to the package. For
example:

patch.4.5.20.1 => db-4.5.20.1.patch
font-arial-iso... => MPlayer-font-arial-iso...
binaries-... => avifile-binaries-...

Here is the current output:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~ $ blfsdiff
BLFSDIFF - REPO -> BOOK
@@@ svn @@@
-30375-akode-2.0.2.tar.bz2
-Finance-Quote-1.11.tar.gz
+Finance-Quote-1.13.tar.gz
+ast-ksh.2008-02-02.tgz
-cups-1.2.11-source.tar.bz2
+cups-1.2.12-security_fixes-1.patch

-libmikmod-3.1.11-a.diff
+setuid.patch
-sudo-1.6.9p13.tar.gz
+sudo-1.6.9p12.tar.gz

30375-akode not sure why it isn't showing in the wget file but it is on
the kde-multimedia page, can't find 1.13 of finance-quota anywhere,
ast-ksh is missing due to license acceptance to download it, can't find
1.2.12 version of cups, gnucash the book has both .bz2 and .gz versions
linked and breaks md5sum and my script, html no idea what the hell this
package belongs to, junit I believe has license issues, libmikmod patch
seems to be "recommended" so I have it in ftp but it isn't in wget list,
setuid.patch is from stunnel but isn't available for download, and sudo
that version is old and removed from ftp already.

Besides those issues, the repo is up to date at this time. I think you
already turned off rsync since anduin has a really old version still, if
you want to turn that back on for now until you have a better solution
in place, it is up to date.

Compared to quandary which has the current version:

200803290102

The blfs repo is big, has lots of exceptions which can be programmed around in
scripting, but I've shown all I've got. I will try to update more often, every
other day or so, but I understand if you guys are tired of my lazy-ass-ness and
can gladly script it yourself. :) If you want to update and use the
osuosl.org servers, I can contact them for permission for the people you want
added, and more people can update then. The one "lfs" user has lfs, blfs and
hlfs repos in it. I'm able to handle lfs, hlfs, and clfs repos fine due to
much fewer files.

Any questions let me know.

Justin
