Also I forgot to tell that this a gentoo snapshot, though I've (git) cloned
both ffmpeg and libswscale myself- because of a human error I've had to check
other sources too (I forgot to built the shared libraries, yes stupid I know,
I discovered that during configuration of transcode).

Some more snapshots.

Many fixes, new features, some of them appealing (vertical split) and a new
maintainer.

Not in the Book, however requires nothing than poppler and gtk, great
little application. This snapshot contains fixes and the capability to
copy (a critical feature that is missing in the formal release)

And since I was talking about transcode, the new release 1.1.0 works fine,
here is a workable configure (dependencies seems clear to mention them):

./configure --prefix=/usr \
            --enable-vorbis --enable-theora --enable-ogg \
            --enable-lame --enable-libdvdread --enable-libjpeg \
            --enable-alsa --enable-libavcodec --enable-libavformat \
            --enable-xvid --enable-libxml2
