   I've been out of twon for a few days and am catching up.

Your comments above caused me to look at the attr and acl pages in the 
book as of svn-20100203.  I notice that in the acl page, there is a 
section on:

  Configuring attr

Since attr is required for acl, I think this section should be removed 
completely from acl.

I have about 75 unread messages in -book, so this may be entirely redundant.
