But, I've also seen problems which I believe to be XML-related (at one time, printing from abiword was broken by a libxml2 update, and with _my_ latest ghostscript (haven't had time to update that) there is what I think is an XML problem which causes my own printer model to disappear from the list provided by gutenprint, although I can see it in the raw XML list in the program source - also saw that once in the past, when upgrading gs, and fortunately I can pretend it is a different model of printer with satisfactory results.
