 No reply required, I did it myself (a quiet patch in today's TiVo
recordings) - without pkg-config, gtk-doc loses support for
Gnome-doc-utils and Scrollkeeper (i.e. rarian) if those packages are
present, as well as the regression tests if the dep (glib) is
present.

 Seems like a no-brainer to make pkg-config recommended here too,
but my judgement has been proved to be flakey this week, so please
SHOUT if you disagree.

 /me puts fingers in ears : "I can't hear you!" - no, only kidding,
please object if you think any of these packages are better built
with pkg-config as optional, or indeed with p-c not mentioned at all
(which is what the book says now).
