Hey guys, I just got this mail. GNOME 3.6 is in place, but I still see
some components as unstable versions. (odd major version numbers, but
released!)

Should I merge my work?

                     GNOME 3.6 Released
                  ====================

Today, the GNOME Project celebrates the release of GNOME 3.6, the
latest version of the popular free desktop, as well as the GNOME
developer platform.

GNOME 3.6 is the third major update of GNOME 3. It builds on the
foundations that we have laid with the previous 3.x releases and
offers a greatly enhanced experience. The exciting new features and
improvements in this release include a new login experience,
integrated input methods, a refresh of the message tray, support for
more online accounts, improved accessibility, and many more.

For more information about the major changes in GNOME 3.6, please
visit our release notes:

GNOME 3.6 will be available shortly in many distributions. Live images
of GNOME 3.6 are currently being prepared and will appear soon at:

This six months effort wouldn't have been possible without the whole
GNOME community, made of contributors and friends from all around the
world: developers, designers, documentors, usability and accessibility
specialists, translators, maintainers, sysadmins, companies, artists,
testers and last, not least, users. GNOME would not exist without all
those people.

Thanks very much to every one of them!

Our next release, GNOME 3.8, is planned for March 2013.

Until then, enjoy GNOME 3.6 !
